Living for Today

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34)

Remember to carry only the weight of this twenty four (24) hours without the extra bulk of yesterday's regrets and tomorrow's anxieties. Keep a daily perspective. Don't borrow from tomorrow. Living in today can sometimes be my biggest challenge. I will pencil things in and get busy planning the future and sometimes I forget to keep my eyes on today. The busier my planner gets the more anxiety I seem to have. I'm not sure why but I believe it is because God wants me to stay in the day he made. This means not looking backwards to the hurts and regrets of yesterday or forward into a future that is not promised to me.  Just taking the problems and challenges of this day as they come up.  When I hold bitterness in my heart and look backwards I do no one including myself any good and the same with planning things that haven't happened. God gives me the strength and energy I need for this day, I must stay in it and not waste my today's energy on tomorrow or yesterday's problems. Are you living for today in today's God given strength and energy? For today let us practice the act of living in today. Seeking God's will for this twenty four hours and being content in my circumstances, that is what he calls me to do. May God bless each of us with the energy, grace and strength we need to tackle this day. Let us make this 24 hours the best we have ever had.

Keep on trucking.
